Yes I agree. We are smarter and can make more educated choices. And if you experienced guys tell me that's what's needed then I am in no position to argue. But I don't understand entirely why the human body did not evolve to adapt if that situation was presented to it so often. Something just doesn't compute. Maybe we rarely went more than a couple of days without food of some sort.
