I see more of what you are saying now, but as far as I know, when the bible says "children of God", it is referring to believers. Yes, God is the creator of everything and everyone, but the name "children of God" I believe is preserved for believers only.

John 1:12

But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

Romans 8:16

The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,

Romans 8:17

And if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.

1 John 3:10

10 By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.
