I agree with Vektek as to the meaning of the scripture. Also, I have heard the interpretation to mean that men sometimes act as God's representatives, but then earthly rulers can serve as God's representatives as well. Scripture no where teaches that men are gods in the meaning of a God with the capital "G", or "I AM", or a God that is the most High.

I do question that all Word of Faith teachers believe and teach that. Just because some of them believe it does not mean that they all believe it. There are a whole lot of wolves and false teachers out there that are being labeled as Word of Faith. Is this a real group with a statement of beliefs that they all belong to, or, are other Christians just assuming them to all belong to this group? Are these other Christians just assuming that they all believe the same things? The only list of beliefs that I could find for Word of Faith are lists made up by Christians who are against them. I do not think it is fair to label them all as believing all these false things, when they don't, because I did find some error in their criticism of these ministers. In other words, some may be heretics, but others may not be, because they don't all believe and teach the same. I believe they are accused of this falsely.

I agree with Vektek that only the true Christian has God in them by the Holy Spirit. This Holy Spirit was received when they became born again, also called becoming saved. I also believe in a separate and different experience of receiving the Holy Spirit as is taught in the book of Acts called the baptism of the Holy Spirit. The works of the Holy Spirit are huge. We cannot fit Him into a box. He works in the lives of the unsaved by convicting them of sin etc., but He does not dwell in them. He dwells in those who become born again for regeneration, guidance etc. Also, the Holy Spirit does another work in those who receive what is called the baptism of the Holy Spirit. This baptism of the Holy Spirit adds power and the ability to witness Jesus in greater power in the lives of those who receive this baptism. This experience is described in the book of Acts.
