citric acid is a glycolytic inhibitor --it actually decreases the Energy production of some/most/maybe all cancer cells --glycolysis is how cancer cells produce enough energy to be cancer cells.. Cancer cells exhibit mitochondrial dysfunction (diminshed or non existent apoptotic signalling - the process that destroys malfunctioning cells. There is a high likely hood that high enough daily consumption of the stuff -- minimum 5 grams/day may destroy some cancers.Odds are you or your family members have come nowhere near 5g/day of citric acid consumption. I've consumed 15g/day of the stuff for six months with no adverse effects. I now take 5g/day to decrease joint pain in my fingers -- it seems to work. Pepsi contains phosphoric acid which may play a role in kidney stone formation. citric acid should prevent them at some daily intake level.
