Could be a ganglion cyst. What did the doctor say?? If there was an ultrasound I'm sure he gave you a diagnosis.... What did he recommend be done to it?

A lipoma is a fatty cyst. Those are typically soft and usually don't hurt. I doubt it's that...

Either way, I'd look to having it removed if it's painful and impairing movement.
