Based on my personal experience it seems highly likely your smell and 'need to pee' sensation are herpes related. Which would mean clearing it would be waiting it out or going to the doctor for anti-virals--you can go on a daily to suppress the virus which in turn decreases your chance of transmitting it if you have a new partner, or an 'as-needed' for when you have an outbreak which sounds like this could be what one for you could look like...just guessing based on my own research as a newbie looking to learn.
I discovered a month ago I had herpes and it would have been a year or longer since I contracted it. Needless to say I was flabbergasted because I learned from school, granted a decade ago, and nurses since- 'if you have herpes you know it', and I picture big nasty sores. Thank you false information and heightened stigma. I was fairly asymptomatic --also thanking my lucky stars-- only experiencing heavy discharge with a pungent smell, one tiny blister, and a mild itch. It's been a month now and I've have been on daily anti-virals since my doctor's appt when she took the culture which proved I was positive --they put you on antivirals right away as a precaution to 'stay ahead of the outbreak'-- which likely helped at least somewhat with my symptoms. I also had a slight 'need to pee' sensation after just going. Since the symptoms have mostly cleared the only thing lingering is a slight smell which is just as strong as my usual, but is different so extremely off-putting. I am assuming/hoping it means the outbreak is not entirely over and eventually I will revert back to smelling like 'me' (which is actually how I found this thread- I was googling to research how the smell thing works). Hope this helps and thanks to everyone for being open about your own experience! Support and research has made all the difference for me in handling what could easily have been heavily depressing news.
