Argyria is the result of exceeded limits(body mass). Which applies to all things ingested. (see: toxicology)

That being said, your so called Elixir is subject to the same rules(toxic) even in cases where safety limits have yet to be established. Which by the way, is usually an indicator of a lack of testing and analysis.
