Right on Hunter! I agree. Maybe God appears to each person in a form that is acceptable to that person. I forgot about that aspect. I am only speaking from my experience and should remember that's probably not the reality for everyone.

Yet another example of man getting mixed in with God, which is a mistake.

The main point in what I'm posting is the possibility that the reality could be different than what we think, and that unintentional errors have probably been made, like you just pointed out. :-)
