FWIW when I went to the doctor in December my TSH was 11.32.. I started taking mass quantities of Lugols and in Apri my TSH went up to 48. I cut out all Lugol's and started getting plenty of sunlight and now its down to 5.85..

The entire time I wouldnt take any meds.. meds are never the answer IMO... But I had no symptoms.. if you have symptoms and you feel you NEED the meds then take them, otherwise the cure is in correcting your diet. If you dont get enough sunlight its crucial IMO. Especially on your throat. Sunlight will stimulate your thyroid gland.
