To me it doesn't make sense why this guy doesn't sound like he knows what the true meanings are unless he really didn't have that much input. Who puts that much symbolism and money into something and doesn't know every reason?
I have heard of some strange interps on this. It's like a bad dream and everyone has their own ideas.
I even heard one guy say that the woman with the dying child in her lap was a christian. I guess it's because it shows a woman with a halo around her head holding a dead child somewhat like michelangelo's statue of Mary and Jesus.
She is dressed like a Muslim woman or a nun and the child has a bad right eye possibly representing the false messiah believed by Islam?
For later in the movie, he is resurrected as a whirling dervish, further pointing to a resurrected Christ/Messiah like figure in white. There would have to be a point to be made if they included that last part...right?
When I read about how Dar in Persian means "a door"; "dervish" has been interpreted as "one who goes from door to door" I kind of laughed and said yep, they have those types there as well.
I went this direction in my thoughts about that scene because of the end times type scenario this movie seems to be pointing to. I do not see the jesus figure as being the actual Jesus that will return one day. He seems more like the anti-christ.
I chose to share my thoughts about that one part because of the still picture on the youtube video.
I hope others share their thoughts as well. I'm not claiming to be correct. Just for conversational purposes only.
