I was lucky to have a mother that did all the cleanses. She was doing them all, following Hulda Clark e advices all the way.
She was withering away, to the point where we thought we were going to loose her,. 40 kilos, couldnt hold on to any food any more, no energy at all. Still believed another cleanse would cure her.

She is the only one I forced Iodine and salt on. She did it the slow, low dosing way, but within a year and a half she was good.
Stopped the cleanses, now she is approx 65 kilos and in good shape.
Not that I dont think a cleanse or two a year isnt good; I do; but there is a timing for everything.

Also, maybe not related to you directly but important; as we seem to defend our diet more than anything (me included:)
