Yes you're right refreshed, if made mandatory, something as beautiful as soaking in the Lord's presence could be a man made rule if it's just for show and nothing is going on at the heart level.

The rule many teach to "read your bible every day" is similar. Being motivated by a passionate love for the Lord and by the desire to know His heart deeper is always better than being motivated by compulsion of man.
