I can't imagine Borax doing that to you. 1/8th tsp in 1 liter of water is trivial. We have many people at the VWT Iodine Forum taking more than that with no problems. I take 6mg a day of Boron (almost the same as borax) with no problems.

Sorry, it is a mystery to me. Does anyone else have ideas?
