No doctor have ever cured peeling lips, but many doctors have caused it by prescribing strong Antibiotics , accutane, corticosteroids, steroidal birth control etc.

Good luck with your faith in doctors! Don't worry, you are not alone. Thousands of people on this forum have gone your way. They are stil treating the peeling lips with prescriptions.

Doctors don't even have a slightest idea what the real cause is, so it is impossible for doctors to cure the exfoliative cheilitis.
All doctors can do for your peeling lips is cause more irreversible damage on the long run, by prescribing hydrocortizone, Antibiotics , topical treatments, other corticosteroids, etc.



One day you will figure that out yourself, but today it is unfortunatelly too early for you to comprehend the facts, as you don't understand how or why or what. You are overwhelmed with information, and all you want is to run to a doctor.


So far, we have hardly had one single person come to this forum and report that something prescribed by his doctor cured peeling lips for good, and he is not anymore dependent on medications, while not making any changes to his lifestyle or his diet or his life.


There are people who reported a cure after Antibiotics , a cure after antifungals, a cure after using corticosteroids, etc, but none of those cures lasted after the treatment stops.

In other words, it was just a treatment for the symptoms of the exfoliative cheilitis, and not a long term real cure.

Long term cure is when you discontinue using the prescription medications ( whatever one is working for you ), and the condition is gone for good. So far there have not been many reports like that, not on this forum, not during the last 11 years. Maybe we should wait 11 more years and hope that someone comesalong and report a total cure after using a prescription medication?
Unfortunately, prescription medications are designed for treating symptoms, and rarely cure any condition, except for STDs and few other infectious diseases.

And, even when prescription medications do cure something, the side effects can sometimes be felt for years after, unfortunately for those unlucky people.
