Well, what do you know?
The IRS uses outside contractor Sonasoft to archive emails.
Internet sleuth Morgen R posted this yesterday.
The IRS is listed as a customer of Sonasoft software – “Email archiving done right.”
The IRS first signed a contract with Sonasoft in 2005.
And Sonasoft evened bragged about being the backup servers for the IRS in a 2009 tweet.
Via Peter Suderman at Reason:
Suderman added, “A document posted on its website describing its services says that its system “archives all email content and so reduces the risk of non-compliance with legal, regulatory and other obligations to preserve critical business content.”
Thomas Lifson at American Thinker has much more.
So why was this not disclosed to Congress?
And, if the IRS lost Lois Lerner’s emails and the emails of several other top officials, shouldn’t they be protected by Sonasoft?
If Congressional Republicans want to find the lost emails they ought to subpoena Sonasoft.
