Hello,
I am new to this forum but have been browsing it considerably lately. I have had MCS for a while now, but only in the last 4 weeks or so has it become significantly worse.
So much around me I can no longer tolerate and while I am trying to stay positive, I am definitely have a hard time coming to terms with my new way of life. It came to be so abruptly even though I am sure it was building up for a while. I have plans for wellness based on all my research, including methods of detox and change of diet, as well as limiting my exposure.
In the meantime, I am stuck in an apartment with a new gas oven. It's a long story, but I don't foresee the landlord being agreeable with exchanging it for an electric one. I notice that I get incredibly sick now when I use the oven, even just the top burners.
My question is, have other people with MCS been able to use gas ovens if they wear a mask or leave the room while food is cooking? I feel so stuck right now, and not being able to cook is really hindering me. But I am also really concerned, and hoping that using a mask will be sufficient in the meantime while cooking.
Thank you for any input or advice.
