Weight by itself is meaningless. If you gained weight as a result of adding muscle mass thats good. If you gained weight as a result of gaining fat then thats not so good.

Muscle burns calories, fat does not so having more muscle is agood thing, not a bad thing, even if it means the number on the scale goes up. Its not weight thats important but body composition!
