I was diagnosed with fibroids a few years ago, despite good diet and a generally healthy life-style, and have tried several alternative treatment options over the years incl Iodine with some success. My favorite approaches, however, are homeopathy and TCM - traditional Chinese medicine. If you know a good practitioner and can afford it, I would say go for it! I experienced immediate relief of symptoms from acupuncture as well as the herbal supplements that are customized to address "liver related 'issues'", which fibroids are.
I wrote a book about the ups and downs I went through and my experiences with various remedies (and doctors). I also have been dealing with thyroid and adrenal issues the entire time and write about the possible connections of those various health challenges. The emotional aspect was big for me, and I feel women are largely left alone with those health problems, which upset me to the extent of writing a book :-)
It is published as a Kindle ebook only, "The Fibroid Challenge", and is on sale this week until Sunday night if anybody is interested.
