You sound pretty emotionally invested in this. I have learned over the years to remove my emotions from my opinions. It is a pretty handy skill to have.

Farm Fresh means eggs that have recently come from family owned chickens. My cousin and his wife have a pretty consistent supply of farm fresh eggs, but the nutrient content is unknown. That is why I prefer Eggland's Best.

Farm Fresh is simply a common term used to describe eggs that are relatively recent and not store bought.

As I stated above, I am studying to become a biochemist. Of course I know what Vitamin D is. Depending on which form you are referring to, the active form's chemical name is cholecalciferol. It is very similar in structure to hormones produced by the body and requires cholesterol and calcium in order to be formed properly by the liver and kidneys via the chemical compound formed on the skin due to sun exposure.

Eggland's best contains 30% of the daily requirement for Vitamin D per egg on average. That equates to about 120 I.U. (international units) per egg. Hence, I get about 90% of that daily simply by eating their eggs. It is listed on their packaging if you would like to reference this.

Every other brand of egg that I can find only contains about 10% of the RDA which equates to about 40 I.U. per egg. That is 1/3 the content of Eggland's Best. That is why I try to consume Eggland's Best whenever possible. More Iodine and more Vitamin D per egg.

In fact, eggs are one of the few significant food sources of Vitamin D. The Ghee I consume for my fat source (which comes from butter) also contains small amounts of D.

The nutrient content of farm fresh eggs depends upon the feed and I am unable to know or control how much of each nutrient is in those eggs. However, it is unlikely that an independent farmer will be able to feed its chickens the quality feed that Eggland's Best uses to increase the nutrition of each egg. That is why I prefer Eggland's Best. I know exactly how much is in each egg because of the nutrition label and it has more of those nutrients than any other brand that I have found to date.
