Since allergy season is upon us, I should have posted this a bit earlier.....

Black Seed and Black Seed oil have been proven highly effective in alleviating the symptoms caused by allergies; runny/stuffy nose, sneezing, itching, burning eyes, and/or hives and eczema. Many factors can aggravate allergies, but according to Doctors’ Schleicher and Saleh’s Book, “…patients who routinely experienced severe reaction to pollen each spring remained completely free of symptoms after ingesting black seed oil. Black Cumin oil provides the necessary additional amount of unsaturated fatty acids that people who suffer from allergies need to balance their overactive immune systems. “

For best results, black seed oil should be taken regularly several weeks before the beginning of allergy season. The suggested dosage is ¼ tsp. three times a day, or one black seed oil capsule, three times daily, which should be continued throughout the summer months.

For those already experiencing allergic reactions, a black seed inhalation remedy can provide immediate relief.  Inhaling this vapor and drinking black seed tea regularly are also highly recommended.

The following is the doctors’ inhalation remedy:

Black Cumin Inhalation

1 cup ground black seed

1 quart boiling water

Put black seeds in a bowl, and add boiling water. Stir briefly and allow mixture to steep for 5 minutes. Drape a towel over your head, creating a tent over the steaming bowl and inhale the vapor for 10 minutes. Repeat this method as needed up to several times a day.

 

Black Cumin Allergy Relieving Tea (My recipe)

1 tbsp. finely ground black seed

1 tsp. ground nettle leaf

1 tsp. ground peppermint leaf

1 tbsp. black or green tea

1 pint water

Mix the black seeds and other herbs together with tea. Steep in very HOT, but not quite boiling water, for up to 10 minutes. Sweeten with honey if desired. Drink 1 cup of tea three times a day before meals.
