Grizz,

I have healed a chronic sore thumb (metacarpal bone)that felt like a fracture that had failed to heal. It wasn't actually injured, that I can recall, so I think it was an arthritis-related issue. I started taking a weak boric acid solution daily, and found that the pain gradually diminished over several months, and the thumb is now strong and pain-free.
This was a beneficial side-effect, as I was not taking the boron for that problem, specifically. I just mixed 5-6 grams in a liter of pure water, and took about 15 ml of that in water. The taste is not bad at all. That problem had existed for a year or more, before I discovered the boron idea. I have no access to borax, so I can't comment on that. I also found that my knee pains were reduced-- I cycle more than 50km/week, and noticed an improvement in knee joint pain, which tends to come and go. I would recommend this remedy to anyone with joint pain. I was not taking any other mineral supplement at that time, and had not changed my diet.
