my two cents.
the first time i took Iodine i took potassium iodate. the second day of taking that i had never been so cold in all my life, and i was already running in the low 97s. i thought i would die, wishing it would hurry up and do so.
the first problem was iodate. steer clear completely. its like perchlorate light due to the damage it does. the cdc does recommend this as an alternative to potassium Iodide in a nuclear emergency (like we ever stopped being in one since the forties!). its better than cancer but not by much. the alphebet soup agencies ride again(while we pay the price).
then there is wolf-chaikoff. yes, sudden increases in Iodine intake will shut the thyroid down temporarily. both with continued use and with complete withdrawal, function will return to normal. the idea is to either take Iodine or not. i dont know of any benefit of going off and on iodine (some do this on purpose at first to jump start uptake and utilization of this new bounty) and there may be harm in it. i tend to think its just bothersome and not much more. if i stop longer than two days i get a runny nose for a couple of days once i resume.
you have major major toxic buildup. along with a non-functioning thyroid you probably have a clogged liver, slow bowels, hormone imbalance, insulin resistence and adrenal fatigue to boot!
if you want to lose fat, eat fat. then your body is forced to break it down and digest it, both new and old.
