I got kidney stones out by using a tincture of the herb Chanca Piedra. Didn't even know I had the stones in me at first. Was taking the herb as part of a Liver Flush protocol. But they came out with very little pain. Apparently the herb not only breaks them down so they can pass out of the body, but it also somehow helps to produce a cushioning on the way out to minimize pain. This would be a good low cost option for your friend. It would probably take a while to get something that big to break down small enough to come out, but I would definitely do it if it were me.
