That Jarrow product appears to be made in a distant Southern Island Japan claims to own, it's really close to China and, well, Fukushima happened with the radioactive spillage right next door. I would not want to consume anything made proximal/close to anything Japanese right now.
You could also avoid jumping to the Bromine conclusion and include many other theories as to why you have a horrible headache. Could the product be contaminated? Are you detoxing something else? Is the Chlorella freeing latent toxins? Is it binding toxins and making them mobile?
From what I've read about it, it contains a LOT of iron, and plenty of zinc. It also has a very good amino acid profile, you are getting all the aminos probably. It's up to you to keep taking it, some have headaches/pains, while others have no reaction. It sounds like a good product, but I've never tried it personally.
As for salt, I've read on these forums that pure sodium chloride without any additives like a pickling salt is a better option. I've tried many different salts, they have slightly different effects from what I can tell. That said, I have not tried pickling salt yet, but plan to try it out soon.
Also, watch out cause Iodoral can easily give you headaches - the Iodine (I2)/ Potassium Iodide (KI) ratio implies it contains the diatomic molecule (I2) of two bound iodides. I believe that it can cause headaches, it did with me. The KI did not feel like it gave headaches, however.
