I would suspect that you have affected your zinc levels. Iron is a top antagonist to Zinc. I am constantly trying to balance raising both of my levels. Also, if you have something like pyroluria you are already deficient in zinc so it's even more difficult to get both raised. Zinc is needed for more than 100 enzyme and metabolic processes so that could be why your digestion has become worse. Here's a web site that may be helpful:
