Trapper,

Your 1st article says, "It’s also important to realize that there are two types of iodine, and that you need them both:
Iodine
Iodide
The latter is the salt of iodine. One of the primary differences between them is that Iodine will diffuse into the cell, whereas Iodide must be transported into the cell. Different tissues in your body absorb either one or the other, hence you need BOTH for optimal health. One is not necessarily “better” than the other on its own.

2nd link is broken & cannot be loaded.

3rd link confirms the first link that both Iodine & Iodine are required:In the chapter, "Most Effective Forms of Iodine"
it says,"So, for supplementing iodine it appears that a mix of elemental iodine and Iodide (as in
Iodoral or Iosol) is called for to supply the thyroid and the rest of the body.

In summary, it is Lugols, iodoral & your own SSKI 2% which contain both iodine and Iodide that is needed.

However I do believe some amount of conversion of KI into iodine is true to some extent. Still, we don't know how effectively each person will convert. Personally, I wouldn't gamble on taking only KI when Lugol's has proven so successful for 175 years. Stakes are too high. In addition, the iodine doctors have thousands of success stories using Lugols & iodoral.
