I don't know if this will help but I saw the same thing happen when my husband tried to go off Effexor. He was also taking klonopin.

I would suggest that your mania is exacerbated by the numerous other medications that you are taking in addition to the Pamelor. The only thing I can suggest if you don't want to stop the other meds is to taper in as gradual a way as you can, even more gradually that the doctors recommend. Also, do not drink ANY alcohol for any reason whatsoever. Not even a sip. One beer can send you through the roof.

You may want to poke around this site some more for some alternatives to your medication`such as cleanses and flushing.
