Hello everyone- I'm new here, and new to water fasting, although I have done a juice fast in the past for about 8 days or so.
I am doing 14 day water fast, and am on day 7. So far so good- had spells of dizziness, aches, headache- the usual. This has passed. I do have a slight shortness of breath- not difficulty breathing, I just get a little winded doing normal activity. Many people have posted on the subject and there really isn't too much info out there regarding it. Many folks tended to get quite alarmed. I suspect it is my body telling me to take it easy. I was also a casual smoker for years.
Anyhow, I digress. I haven't been hungry since the first 3 or so, at least not physically, although mentally, craving the weirdest things that I don't often eat. I read something about 'cell memory' which explains it.
Today I thought I was feeling what I suspected was "natural hunger." I had a few "pangs" early that I haven't had since the first days. I have read quite a bit on the subject of water fasting- and I know that you should break the fast immediately if this occurs. The thing is, no one really explains what "natural hunger" is. What it feels like, symptoms etc. Can anyone clarify this for me???
I now believe I was having a spell of "mental hunger" , and this has subsided a bit. I'm also of average body weight and do not suspect that by body would go into starvation mode after a mere 7, or even 14 days, But it would be nice if someone could elaborate on "natural hunger" for me. For future reference at least, as this will not be my last fast.
My very best,
Cat
