I apologize, I want to correct an error in my previous post. A. Cutler warns that urine porphyrins tests are prone to false *negative* results due to the sensitivity of the analyte!
So if you get a result that is positive or suspicious for a toxic metal or other toxin, it is credible. However if you get a negative result, you don't know if the sample was mishandled causing a false negative.
Cutler goes into this in somewhat more detail in this interview.
