I think I am in your son's camp -- but I will give some herbs a shot after I finish my course of fluconazole -- St. John's Wort in particular, but also some Chinese herbs -- peony & bupleurum -- that I got from my old acupuncturist (maybe will start doing that again as well).

It would be easy if there were millions of EC sufferers and therefore money to be made in its research. As it stands, there are thousands of people out there, and we just have to experiment, collaborate, and listen to our bodies better than your average pill-popper.

I have to constantly remind myself things could be worse, and at least I look normal half the time, and look better than I have at times in the past 7 years. My housemate has eczema breakouts all over her body (not the lips though) probably from a combination of allergies and stress, and this helps put things into perspective for me.

A perfect storm of factors got me into this mess, and it will be a perfect storm of treatments -- psychological and biological -- that will get me out of it. If all else fails, I'll just hop a boat to that atoll in my picture with my favorite mp3s and forget all my woes.
