Low platelets probably coincide with the infection you had when you lost those 7-LBS in 12-hours. Please ask your doctor/gen. practitioner politely to furnish some credible sources of Iodine induced thrombocytopenia.

It sounds like you had some bad diarrhea and they gave you 2 liters of IV saline to rehydrate your blood. By chance do you have diabetes and poor immune function? Are you sure it was the ice cubes, maybe it was something else as well? Where did you obtain your source of Iodine also?
