The scar seemed to become more red and noticeable after applying Lugols Iodine which apart from the thicker hair was the reason that I only did it once. Once is not really going to make all that much of a difference so cannot really be used as a guide IMO. I think for my purposes, DMSO and nutrients is the way to go. If you have a problem with a keloid scar then our solutions may be different. For me, healing of my skin is very very slow and I tend to scar even with simple scratches. I am therefore going to supply what is needed for collagen/skin formation to try and speed up the healing process.
I have got myself some amino acids, received the final one yesterday, glycine, l-proline and l-alanine the main amino acid constituents of collagen and I intend mixing that with my Aloe/DMSO gel and some vit c. I also have some l-glutamine and l-lysine which I might add a little. I also might add some oil as well but only considering ATM. The only problem is that vit c makes the gel become so runny however vit c is essential. I did comment on this before but I don't know whether to risk xantham gum. There are polysaccharides in Xantham gum which might help contribute to collagen synthesis via Glycosylation.

I have not noticed any damage to normal skin. I do have a small scar on my ankle which I have put Lugols Iodine onto on a number of occasions. That did scab up very well, far better than I usually do however that was before the Iodine so I do not think that was a factor. There is a slight redness to the skin where the scab came off, almost normal and a cream/brown coloured area in the centre. All flat but with the discolouration in the centre.
I think to be effective, a scar needs iodine kept moist inside a bandage or plaster.
