Scientists are becoming shy to try new things that are against mainstream knowledge, so you may die or live a miserable life if you wait for their approval.
Also Science does not claim to know everything about the reality, they claim that they have some explanations on why some phenomenons/things are or function, but it does not mean that others things do not exist or things can't function in another way.
