Hi M,

Ascorbate DEFINITELY deteriorates with oxygen, heat [and potentially light]. However, at least theoretically, as long as you keep your solution in an airtight and [preferably] dark container, away from heat, the solution should maintain its potency well, at least for the few hours that you are talking about.
