Yes, UV can kill most microbes but beware, it can kill any cell in your body that it reaches. UV kills by destroying DNA and does so quite efficiently.

So, whatever area of your body is irradiated with the UV, expect dead cells. Kind of like sunburn but direct UV can go even deeper.
