Glad to hear you are not starving yourself. I think McDougall really knows what he is talking about, Graham not so much. I don't know if McDougall recommends certain percentage of macro-nutrients but probably most people will need more than 10% of their calories from fat and protein (although not a whole lot more). As far as blood tests go, I never bothered having them done, I know my adrenals are all messed up and I'm sure my cortisol is low but since I don't want to take any medicine or supplement with anything extreme, I never had any reason to get these tests, but I know many others on this forum have various tests done.

Honestly, from what you are writing, it doesn't scream adrenal fatigue just the fact that you are able to run at all says something. Most of us that have had adrenal fatigue have been basically bed-bound for at least months at a time. However, you could be in the early stages of adrenal fatigue and on your way to full-blown adrenal fatigue if you don't correct what you are doing. The rising TSH levels is concerning. Getting cortisol levels tested and hormone levels checked is okay, but my only problem with these tests is once you get the results then what do you do about it? I have never had any desire to take any glandulars or follow any other extreme measures that are supposed to correct these imbalances. I have done everything with diet and very gentle herbs that are more like food. I follow Ayurveda (traditional Indian medicine) but a lot I have had to figure out on my own.
