Does higher, non-magnestically-reacted elemental Iodine (I) in the Lugol's formula inhibit the absorbtion of the potassium Iodide some way?

Was wondering yesterday, so I painted the Lugol's 5% liberally on my thigh as an experiment. I hearsay that painting Lugol's tends to only promote thyroid action, but instead I woke up..
It had triggered the onset of my delayed period, LOL.
I will call that a good thing, today.
