I want to point out that this is my personal and humble opinion and I do not intend to underestimate the great work Dr. Borody is doing in his clinic.
To answer your message my 1st reason not to treat myself in his clinic is his price tag. AUD $ 10,000 - $ 15,000.00 is just out of my possibilities, I couldn't even begin to imagine being able to ask for a bank loan of this size.
The 2nd is Dr. Borody's procedures: a colonoscopy requires patient sedation, in some cases, and most importantly the transplant doesn't reach the small intestine which scientific studies have proven is affected in many inflammatory intestinal diseases.
This being said I'd like to point out I'm not saying Dr. Borody's procedure is lacking or unethical for the reasons of using colonoscopy to inflate the procedure costs and the total price tag or taking advantage he is one of the few health professionals doing FMT in the world. I'm only saying his procedure is out of my financial possibilities and that I'd prefer other procedures that are more affordable, less invasive and help to heal the small intestine as well like Dr. Thomas Louie's.
