You want to shoot for a vit A to D ratio of 5:1 and have ample vit K to make sure that calcium in your body ends up where it needs to be.

Vit D needs magnesium to do its job so if someone is borderline low on magnesium and they add vit D they can actually cause a magnesium deficiency.

Much like iodine, if you have been mag deficient for some time it can take month at a loading dose to build back up to sufficiency.

You really need to try and get 4700mg of potassium a day, that alone had the single biggest impact on my training. If your not eating fruits and making up for it with potassium rich veggies your really shooting yourself in the foot. Potassium is essential for not only electrical signaling but healing and maintaining a healthy PH. If you cant get enough potassium from supplements then you are going to have to start eating fruits.

If you have a healthy thyroid the the suger in fruits shouldnt be an issue at all when it comes to maintaining a healthy bodyweight. When eating fruits you are eating the package as nature intended and even though structurally the fructose may be the same as in candy etc the fact its bundled with the natural fibers etc in the fruit itself make a world of difference. Dont be afraid of eating some fruit.
