I would not zap the actual outbreak. Topically I always found a vitamin E cream in salve form was very soothing. You could easily make your own salve too.

Don't get discouraged. I firmly believe my doing the protocol helped my virus wear itself out. I think I still have herpes but I have found what works and overall I have a life free from symptoms. I can't get worked up about not having a cure because not having symptoms is close enough for me. Once in a blue moon I feel something coming on but I generally can beat it before it comes out. You will get freedom if you try enough things. The beck protocol was amazingly helpful to me.

Get some kefir grains and make your own milk kefir is something I think could help also.
