I should probably explain why:

Because supplemental calcium does not go into the bone but ends up clogging up the arteries and/or stressing the kidneys. Rosedale blames deranged mineral transport, hormonal resistance/imbalance and too much protein in the diet over a very long period of time (the body converts excess protein to sugar, which activates the most unhealthy metabolic pathway; over time the body "learns" to metabolize its own muscle and bone protein instead of fats, especially in people who can't burn fats, such as people with active symptoms of hypoglycemia, for example).
