I am taking 400mg Goldenseal root/rhizomes 3X per day with lots of water. I am on the anti-candida diet (no Yeast, Sugar or wheat) But I have lost so much weight (15lbs and I was already underweight) that my parents are giving me some of these forbidden foods in hopes I don't lose more pounds. I am eating fresh fruits and vegetables when I can, organic meats and soups, herbal teas, and raw garlic and ginger. The improvements I've noticed while taking the herb (its been one week so far)= stools do not FLOAT like they did nor are they pure liquid or bright yellow (they still have air bubbles, are soft, mushy and stink like the high heavens), my involuntary muscle spasms have decreased (not gone, but decreased/less frequent). My first suspicion of what sickness I had was Giardia, from the sudden onset of digestive problems that resulted in explosive yellowish watery diarrhea 5+ times per day which is why I began the goldenseal treatment. but the twitching and spasming in my intestines lead me to believe (along with reading this forum) that I have ascaris, toxoplasmosis, or something else similar. I fear scattering a LOT. I have always had severe anxiety and health anxiety-especially when sick, which might be a culprit for the heart problems I have been having. I tried Paragone for three days but had to stop due to heavy diarrhea and cramping (as it directed on the package). I am seeing a specialist on Tuesday who might be able to help me. I am thinking now the bloody stool was more than likely the blueberries I ate (probably half a pint of them last night), and perhaps the mushiness came from the grilled cheese I ate (the bread was sourdough- so no yeast but still guilty of wheat and dairy). I've also heard that heavy herbal treatment can cause scattering as-well which is why I have been hesitant to bring in the big guys like Wormwood and clove. Being somebody that has had pinworm and eradicated it effectively with Antibiotics , I am hoping that the doctor can cure me with some of the hardcore pharmescuitcals. I told myself if I wasn't cured by the goldenseal, I clearly did not have Giardia and must see a doctor for a colonoscopy/other test to see what parasitic infection I have.
