I post in another thread, but I wanted to post here too. Please give acupuncture and liu wei di huang wan (a formular of traditional chinese med)a try.
I diligently did 4 sessions of acupuncure, and 5 days of liu wei di huang wan just twice a day (it should be 3 times a day), and my creatinine went from 13 to 6, GFR went from 71 to 85.
I have lupus induced class4 kidney disease diagnosed in 2006, and have been doing fine until December when all of a sudden protien in the urine increase greatly and rapidly. One thing new is edema. I was very panic this time. Even after 3 weeks of steroid 60mg, creatinine went up from 5 to 13, GFR from 81 to 71.
So I started to take it very seriously. After doing acupuncture and the TCM, I am so relieved that the result is so good. My doctor is happy with the improvement too.
If you google, there have been many study findings on the greater effectiveness of combining western med and TCM.
