Oh ok, good.

Yes, I first learned of the Amplified bible after listening to Joyce Meyer on the radio. I bought a small one and it does seem to amp up the meaning of the words well.

I really like Bible Gateway, but only use it for online use and not my normal studies. I know this sounds weird...but I have always been a little concerned that online bible scriptures could one day be hacked to say something different than the original. I'm sure most of the one's I ran across was due to just human error when typing it all up, but it did cause me to realize how easy it would be for someone to purposely write it wrong to deceive. Would we know scripture well enough to catch it?

It use to be that one could memorize scripture and know if you were reading scripture that was written correctly or not. However with all the different versions now, if you read a different version than what you memorized, it can make you question if you have an authentic verse.

I had this problem at church sunday when working with the children's ministry. The young lady that took over for me in this ministry had written out the very long Psalms 23. Each word was written on different pieces of paper and the children were asked to place the correct words in order so that we could read it.

Well...lol...I was having trouble helping the children put it in order because the words were different than I knew them. It still meant the same thing overall, but it sure made me feel silly when I labored just as hard as the children did to try and piece it all together. After putting it all in line, I kept reading it, thinking how strange it sounded to my memory of it, but it still sang sweetly the gospel truth.
