Easy. Most of us need between 8 and 9 hrs of sleep per night. Assuming 8hrs, you would have to take a dose that "covers" this time span with ideal time release characteristics (a computer-in-a-pill, if you will). With a chelator, it is a bad idea, as it contradicts the principle of low-dose (low risk) chelation. The combined dose would have to carry a multiple of your standard dose of ALA. If something went wrong, the affected individual would wake up with schizophrenia (figuratively speaking). It is a lot better to make a mistake with a small dose (such as not waking up on time, and having to quit the round) than with a larger one. Not worth the risk.
