I try getting around using plastic water bottles for daily use by using a small (300 ml) glass bottle that once had apple juice in it. We "gather" water from a spring up in the mountains but have to use the 8 liter plastic bottles for transporting. The glass bottles have been washed and used umpteen times.
Cannot imagine an aluminium water bottle being good for the health however "nice" it looks.
