I am sorry to hear of your cataract situation.

There have been a number of studies done showing that ascorbic acid orally [and even sodium ascorbate topically] have both a preventative and [may even have] a possible reversing effect upon cataracts [if ingested in sufficient quantity over a long enough period of time].
