I think that you are reading about people who are taking Iodine without the required co-supplements.

You cannot take Iodine without the required co-supplements. ESPECIALLY selenium. Iodine & selenium are co-requisites - one without the other WILL lead to thyroid problems. The usual result is hashi or even a thyroid storm.
