It may be a vitamin B deficiency. I had it after my first son was born, clown mouth mask yes. Typically some red streaks, cracks if riboflavin deficiency, but all the vit bs typically have some redness or burning in the mouth area, if deficient.
High Iodine will frequently highlight a deficiency, as it trigger the body to act, detox.
