VERY NATURAL REMEDIES for HEADACHE..
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Recently I have posted a COLLECTION of Links with Headache/ Migraine Remedy Information.. This time I decided to 'open' all those links and provide you with 'Easier to memorise' version of it..
...........................................................
1. Breathing techniques - During a Headache, Close your Right nose and breath through your Left nose. In about 5 mins, your Headache will go. Continue the exercise for One month. Ideally option is to do it on Fresh air.
If you feel TIRED, just reverse, Close your Left nose and breathe through your right nose. After a while, you will feel your mind is Refreshed.
2. In September 2012, Research was published which provided Evidence that Regular use of Painkillers actually Caused more HEADACHE. Natural Painkillers are: Turmeric (1/4 teaspoon per day or so ideally added to meals after food cools down a bit), Ginger (1-2 teaspoons daily to diet for general Muscle pain), Horseradish (Sinus pain – 1 teaspoon twice daily).
3. Find some Feverfew (plant).. 30g of fresh or dry flowers + 400-500ml of Boiling water ---> steep (boil on very Low level) for 10 min then strain. Drink Half a cup 2 times a day as needed.
4. Ginger Root Tea.. 3 slices 2.5sm in diameter of ginger root + 2 cups of water. Gently simmer the pieces of ginger in 2 cups of water, Covered, for 30 minutes. Sip Slowly and Breathe in the Steam if you want. Relax!
5. Lemon.. Fresh lemon juice with (not that hot) tea is one of the best cures for headaches. The lemon peel is also very useful. Pound the lemon peel into a fine paste and apply it as a plaster on the forehead.
6. (Real) Peppermint Essential Oil.. Rub a few dabs into your temples, the back of your jaw, and forehead. You will feel a cooling sensation upon applying it. Breathe deeply, and if possible, find a quiet place to relax and sip some cool water.
7. (Red) Tiger Balm.. Rub a bit of it into your temples and leave on for 15 to 30 minutes (this one good for your back pain too).
8. Lavender.. Place dried Lavender flowers in sachets or herbal hot packs to use when headaches start… Alternatively, make a Tea by steeping One teaspoon of the dried flowers in one cup of boiling water for 15 minutes. Sip slowly throughout the day and sweeten if desired.
9. Chocolate, Alcohol, Caffeinated beverages, Sodas, Refined Sugars (!), genetically modified foods, Gluten-containing grains , aged Cheeses and Peanuts are some of the more common food culprits that may cause Migraines.
10. Almonds.. act as a Pain Reliever because it contains something called Salicin, which is also an agent in popular over the counter killers. Though (!), people who suffer from Migraines may find that Almonds are a trigger food. So try Both ways, either adding them (almonds) or removing them from your diet completely. See which way words for you.
11. Avoid Food Flavor Enhancers and Artificial sweeteners..They could be hidden under names: Gelatin, Yeast extract, Anything “hydrolyzed”, Textured protein. Be extra cautious around Chinese food, processed meats, canned vegies, gravy/soup/dip mixes, and soy-based items.
Sweeteners such as Aspartame, Saccharin and Splenda can be replaced with Stevia, a naturally sweet herb with no known side effects and no calories (go for Only Stevia in a Leave form and avoind it in a tablet form.. Stevia in a leave or leave powdered form can be bought in some drug stores or in D-mart).
Food which usually contains Aspartame - Diet sodas, Some yogurts, Chewing gum, Cooking sauces, Crisps, Tabletop sweeteners, Drink powders, Flavored Water, Sugar-free products, Cereals.
12. Magnesium… Dark Leafy Greens (Spinach), Nuts and Seeds (Pumpkin Seeds.. also Sesame Seeds/ Til , Brazil Nuts, Almonds (read the note about them above), Cashews , Fish (Halibut), Beans and Lentils, Whole Grains (Brown Rice), Bananas, Figs, Apricots, Dates, and Raisins..
13. Cold (or Hot) Compress.. Apply icepack to your head, but make sure not to put the ice directly on your head. You can wrap ice or a bag of frozen vegetables in a towel… Apply heat to the back of the neck with a hot shower, bath, or heating pad. Heat can loosen up the muscles that tighten with tension headaches.
14. Drink up.. As soon as your head starts to hurt, drink a tall glass of water, and then sip throughout the day.
15. Improve your Posture..it can make all the difference in the world when it comes to Tension-Type Headaches. Try using an Ergonomic chair if you’re sitting down a lot, and make a conscious effort to sit up tall but relaxed, with your shoulders back, your chest open, and your neck not sticking too far forward.
16. Exercise increases blood circulation and the Fresh air will also help to Relieve Headache. Also, it allows the whole body to Relax. Most tension headache sufferers find immense Relief with the addition of Exercise. Do Yoga.
17. Grab a Pencil.. Holding a pencil between your teeth (holding Lightly, Not biting or clenching your jaw) can help a Tension Headache dissipate.
18. Enough sleep … sleep in a dark, quiet place. For relaxation: take hot bath or show to help you to relax, air your bedroom, close your eyes and count till 10, breathe deeply and slowly, think positive, Stretch, massage tense muscles, listen to a relaxing music.
19. Do Not use Commercial Fabric Softeners.. They are Full of Chemicals and do cause Headache. Instead you can use 1) Add a quarter cup of Baking Soda to wash cycle to soften clothes 2) Add a quarter cup of White Vinegar to Wash OR Rinse cycle to Soften clothes (don’t (!!) use Bleach at the Same time) 3) Dry your clothes OUTSIDE on a Clothesline to Eliminate Static cling 4) Install a Water Softener.
